You could think that Gabriel (Archibald? [1]) Growbag has been around since the very first Giant Vegetable Competition because he knows so much about it, but as it was over 500 years ago that’s really quite unlikely.
He does have an uncanny knowledge of all the horrors that have plagued the competition in the past however, and hence is always the one to pipe up at meetings. [2] He has also written a booklet on the subject. [3] It’s this attitude which won him his place as chairman of the Vegetable Growers Committee, beating Mr Crock to the place by 25 - 1. [4]
